Da Big game ;)

I suppose I cannot depart on the Friday before Super Bowl without paying some sort of homage to the All American Event, hubbs and I are heading over to a friend's house to watch the game on the big screen, I'll be a good little wifey and make some yummy treats for all the men but in all reality, my ultra shallow partake in the festivities boils down to the fact that...

I absolutely ADORE Kim Kardashian and since her man is the very sexy Reggie Bush...I'm rootin for the Saints.

:::Go Saints:::

*Dare to Wear *

Woot Woot, It's Friday

And Friday's, my lovely followers, will now be home to a little special I'm calling "Dare to Wear" ...You ever see someone rockin something that is so stylish or appealing and think to youself "I want that" but really you're not that ballsy to wear it? Maybe not, but that happens to moi, all the time.  So each and every Friday I'm going to showcase a piece or two or ten that I 'dare to wear'

And first up for grabs is Rompers!! They are ridiculously cute and I know many gals who wear them, I just feel like every time I try one on I look retarted, maybe its because I'm pear shaped or because the ones I've tried just don't fit right...who knows? I feel like petite chicks can pull this look off fabulously (eh hem, check out Chloe @ Chloe's Conspircy)...I also think that if you're going to wear a romper that is shorts rather than pants, you need to stick with a heel or wedge of some sort to avoid a stubby leg look? Unless of course you have gams like C. Diaz then that wouldn't be an issue

Either way, I will dare to wear a Romper in the very, very near future! Here are my throwdowns, one for casual (equipped with basic, neutral makeup and simple shoes) and another for a night out with the ladies (equipped with a nude lip but very daring lashes and killer heels)

And I came across this little lovely from Anthropologie...but what made it stand out to me was the fact that they say "its on sale" and scratch out the old price $100.00 but uh, the sale price $99.95 - so way to go Anthro you knocked off 5 cents? Hunny, that's not a sale :(

What do YOU dare to wear? Let me know, I'd love to feature it - Do you rock rompers or want to? Got any tips for foolproofing the look?

Up and Coming...

Hey all (5 followers)...Happy Thirsty Thursday.  Considering there's only about a week or so until Valentine's Day I suppose I'll bring up the issue that I have with this holidy.  In my oh-so-humble opinion, the only good thing about the holiday is...

getting dressed up in frilly pinks. No, really - I'm not a fan of overrated holidays and occasions that make you go out and spend tons of money on bullshicky that usually costs 1/2 the price (I know, cynical much).  ALTHOUGH, I must say I don't mind the pre-fixe menus with booze that mosts restaurants tend to offer.  I hate roses and lord knows, I don't need chocolates right now so for me, if hubbs wouldn't mind purchasing a really cute outfit for me....the hopplah holiday may just become enjoyable :)

:::hint, hint winky eye at hubbs, you know you'll get lot's of brownie points for this and I might even take over dish duty or animal clean up:::

La Regale at ShopStyle

I was FLOORED when I saw these Manolo knock offs for $80 that are very similar to the Carrie (Bradshaw) blue version she wore to her court house wedding with Big -- which, same exact shoe, I wore to my wedding this past July :) In all reality, I wouldn't spend $98 for that purple purse just because it's not practical but it was oh-so-darling with this outfit and I couldn't resist. Now, $3 earrings: that's right up a recessionista's alley and this Arden B. dress is just "so me" ($69 is NOT a bad price for this dress, especially from that store).  I'm really diggin nude fishnets and am getting a pair stat!

So tell me, what do YOU like or dislike about Valentine's Day and do you plan to do anything exciting, where anything special? Would love to hear about it

Product Review: Lash Blast Mascara

First up for dibs is Cover Girl's Lash Blast Mascara - Waterproof which you can purchase at CVS here for about $9

I bought this mascara about a month ago and figured I'd use it every day to give a useful review.  This mascara works WONDERSSSS!!!!!!!! Not even kidding, get your arse up and go buy it, like right now.

Let me preface by say I have tried every single mascara known to man: from the $30/tube Dior Show to the crapola N.Y.C brand and Mary Kay and everything in between...I've tried the motion wand, the double end, the priming, lengthening, stiletto, full n soft, blah blah blah - ALL of them...and not mention every curler known to man as well.

Yet, I can say that this little lovely above puts them ALL to shame :) It gives a full effect like no other and curls beyond belief.  There isn't much more raving I could do about this mascara, just get it - it's $9 for pete's sake.

:::::Disclaimer: This mascara is next to impossible to get off...you HAVE to use makeup remover and really rub it off, I haven't found anything else that gets it off even in the slightest bit, I suppose this is the one, slight drawback::::

Seond up is the CG Lash Blast Water Resisitant Lengthening Formula which you can purchase at CVS here for about $8

Similar to its counterpart, the lengthening formula works wonders.  The reason I am reviewing this product in addition to the holy grail above is because, I personally use BOTH mascaras on a daily basis.  The lengthening formula isn't nearly as difficult to remove as the original formula and I will, from time to time, use the lengthening formula alone because it gives that very soft, doe-eyed look that pairs well with the 'less is more' look I go for when I'm just running errands or whatever

So here's my gig:
          1. I curl my lashes with a cheapy Elf brand curler from the $1 store (yeah that's right, the dolla store)
          2. I apply about 2 or 3 coats of this lengthening formula which does a wonderful job at equally separating all the lashes and giving a real full, individual lash effect it does not clump, ever, at all.  If you somehow manage to clump it, you are mascara handicapped - plain and simple.
          3. I then apply 1-2 coats of the orange lash blast (but first I give it a gentle swipe on a tissue to remove excess) taking my time to apply generously on all lashes as evenly as possible
          4. Voila! You've got, what I believe to be, very fab-U-lussss lashes
Thanks to my good friend Jaime for turning me on to the Lash Blast and thanks to Wendy Willimas show give-aways for the lengthening formula.

xoxo

Thanks Mama...

Dear Mother Nature,

I'm not quite sure why you hate the Northeast as much as you do but snow is not cool.  Not cool at all.  What kind of shoes do you think are acceptable for snow? Huh? Usually not cute ones! And the gross white film that snow and salt leaves on a pair of decent black leather boots, um yeah takes them from acceptable to not cute once again.  I would appreciate it if you would just take the damn groundhog out and let him make his decision again (obviously, the RIGHT decision this time).  I have cuter sandals and sundresses than I do boots and sweaters.

Sincerely,
Your (potential) #1 Fan :)

..let's not forget

The Grammy's...were friggin awesome on Sunday.  Of course, I loved the red carpet pre-show much better.  I absolutely adore Pink and her cutie little husband Carey...they looked stunning

That dress looks absolutely amazing on her ridiculous body and it is quite rare that we see Mr. Hart dressed up so that was a nice touch

...and if you watched, you definitely saw this young lady 60,000,000 times throughout the pre-show because she was flawless, Miss Lea Michelle

Um, helloooo, if there really is a God - this dress would be delivered to me today on my lunch break and tomorrow I'd wake up with legs like this as well

But thanks to the loveliness that is Miss Nicole @ Coley's Closet Cravings we can all sit pretty with a close call from Arden B for a not too shabby $78 --> click here to purchase

You know what makes me go argh...is Beyonce - she's beyond fabulous, she's got a great body, a great husband and the absolute BEST career ever, yet she wears shit like this.  Really, B, you're lucky you're not a Single Lady after wearing an atrosity such as

ew, girl, just ew

Besides that...I really don't have anyone else to comment on - Lady Gaga was of course, crazy and Fergie looked, well decent and Miley Cyrus just looked stupid (because she is) - and did she get braces because her teeth looked funny? ALTHOUGH, I must add, lastly that Mr. LL must have learned how to stop time because, c'mon does this man really look like he's 41 years old:

da da DAMMMNNN

Manic Monday, er Tuesday

No work para mi on Monday, woo hoo..well actually no woot woot over here because I was feeling wretched all day.  Nonetheless, I got to fully enjoy my Wendy show for the day in total peace and quiet, caught up on my Kardashian as well as a little Desperate Housewives...sometimes the good outweighs the bad on a sick day.

On top of getting to catch up on my fav tv shows, I did a bit of polyvoring for my good friend Jessica who will be brand new to the 9-5 world soon and needed some work attire inspiration and I'm sharing with you below...nothing crazy, just some very cute work clothes based around 2 staple office items --- black pencil skirt and trousers. Personally, I rarely wear flats to work but I sit at a desk so for Miss Jess, who will **fingers crossed** be a hotel manager, I included flats since trotting around in Jimmy Choo's doesn't work for that position.

I must say, Forever 21 - bravo...you sure do a good job on keeping me fashionable at work for very little money.  That is why I <3 F21 so so sooo much...I can literally accesorize, shoe and pull together an entire ensemble for less than $75 at any given time, all while keeping it fashion forward and in the summer - fahgettaboutit I can pull together the whole outfit for like, $30...its like stealing, really.  There's nothing like picking up a cute sundress and even cuter wedges, throw a cardi over it and call it a day for work wear...oh I yearn for sundresses right now, bright and cheery with statement necklace and bangles, (sigh)...for now I will wrap my cozie around and freeze my arse off because in the lovely state of NJ it is a whopping 25 friggin degrees

Oh, and yeah - thanks ya stupid groundhog, ya know we all reealllyy wanted another 6 god for saken weeks of hell.  You're awesome, dude - kudos.

So, now that I'm depressed, here ya go:
